Starting an Colorado Home Health/ Home Care Agency?

Colorado has two types of Home Care Agency licenses:
Class A – a home care agency that provides any skilled healthcare service provided by a licensed medical professional including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, and licensed therapy and respiratory professionals. This agency type may also provide personal care services. For Class A we offer two different document types. One with Medicare and one without Medicare.
Class B – a home care agency that provides only personal care services. An agency with a Class B license shall not provide any skilled healthcare service.

Colorado Class A Home Care Agency with Medicare

Providing skilled medical care in the clients home accepting Medicare, Insurance, VA, Private Pay, and Workers Compensation Reimbursement. This agency type can enroll as a Medicare provider and receive reimbursement.

Colorado Class A Home Care Agency

Providing skilled medical care accepting Insurance, VA, Private Pay, and Workers Compensation Reimbursement. This agency type cannot bill Medicare.

Colorado Class B Home Care Agency

Providing non-medical care such as: medication assistance, transferring, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, denture care, toileting, bathing, transportation and errand services. Colorado does not have a state licensure requirement for a personal care agency.
